દેશમાં ગ્રીન ટ્રાન્સપોર્ટેશન અને પર્યાવરણ અનુકૂળ પરિવહનને વેગ આપવા માટે ભારતીય રેલવેએ એક મોટી અને ઐતિહાસિક સિદ્ધિ હાંસલ કરી છે. આજે વડાપ્રધાન નરેન્દ્ર મોદી દ્વારા હરિયાણાના જીંદ-સોનીપત રેલવે સેક્શન પર દેશની સૌપ્રથમ હાઇડ્રોજન ઇંધણથી ચાલતી ટ્રેનને લીલી ઝંડી બતાવીને પ્રસ્થાન કરાવી હતી. કેન્દ્ર સરકારના નેશનલ ગ્રીન હાઇડ્રોજન મિશન હેઠળ આ પ્રોજેક્ટને ભારતીય રેલવે માટે એક મોટો માઇલસ્ટોન માનવામાં આવી રહ્યો છે, જે રેલવે સફરને સંપૂર્ણપણે પ્રદૂષણમુક્ત બનાવશે.
