#assam: The Assam government has allowed restaurants in Guwahati to remain open till 3:30 AM on July 15, 16, 19, and 20 to facilitate screenings of the FIFA World Cup 2026 semi-finals and final. Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said the move aims to help football fans enjoy the late-night matches while also supporting the hospitality sector. He added that district administrations across Assam may grant similar relaxations based on public demand and requests from restaurant owners’ associations.
