#News || A tragic accident struck the Indian Air Force on Saturday morning after an AN-32 transport aircraft crashed while landing at the Air Force Station in Jorhat, Assam.

The aircraft, which was reportedly flying from Arunachal Pradesh to Jorhat on a routine sortie, crashed within the air base premises at around 10 AM and caught fire shortly after impact.

Five Indian Air Force personnel lost their lives in the crash. The deceased have been identified as Squadron Leader Prashant Singh, Flight Lieutenant Shubham Kumar, Sergeant Jitendra Sharma, Agniveervayu Khemaram Kumawat, and Agniveervayu Danish Alam.

The co-pilot survived the accident and is currently undergoing medical treatment.

Expressing deep sorrow, the Indian Air Force paid tribute to the personnel who made the supreme sacrifice in the line of duty and extended its heartfelt condolences to their families.

Emergency response teams were immediately deployed to the crash site to control the fire and carry out rescue operations. The Indian Air Force has ordered a Court of Inquiry to determine the cause of the accident.

#News || A high-level review meeting on flood preparedness was held at the Lakhimpur District Commissioner’s office in North Lakhimpur under the chairmanship of Assam’s Guardian Minister for Lakhimpur, Keshab Mahanta.

The meeting was attended by MLAs Manab Deka, Rishiraj Hazarika and Dr. Jay Prakash Das, along with District Commissioner Pranabjit Kakati, Superintendent of Police Gunendra Deka and heads of various government departments.

During the meeting, officials reviewed preparations and preventive measures to tackle any flood situation that may arise during the upcoming monsoon season. Reports submitted by different departments were also examined, and necessary instructions were issued to ensure effective disaster management.

The minister directed all departments to remain alert and prepared so that essential services and immediate assistance can be provided to the public without delay in case of flooding.

Representatives of MLAs Bhupen Bora and Naba Kumar Doley, as well as a representative of MP Pradan Baruah, were also present at the meeting.
