#assam: A statement attributed to Singapore-based NRI Abhimanyu Talukdar has sparked reactions across Assam after he reportedly said he did not know Zubeen Garg was a major artist and only learnt about the singer’s vast body of work after his death.
According to the claims circulating on social media, Talukdar said he knew Jitul Sonowal as an artist during his stay in Assam in 2013–14, but was unaware of Zubeen Garg’s stature, health condition and the scale of his musical contributions.
The statement has since triggered strong reactions among Zubeen Garg’s admirers, with many expressing disbelief and sharing emotional tributes to the late singer.
