The occasion was celebrated by giving floral tribute at the entrance of New Custom House, Ballard Estate, Mumbai and at the Jamadar Bapu Lamkhade Chowk followed by tree plantation and felicitation ceremony of meritorious sports persons. Shri P. K. Agrawal, Pr. Chief Commissioner of Customs announced that every year 2nd July, will be celebrated as Late Jamadar Bapu Laxman Lamkhade, Customs Sports Day, wherein indoor and outdoor sporting activities will be conducted for Customs staff.
