Hon'ble Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi has given detailed information about Self Enumeration for the upcoming Phase-II Population Enumeration of Census 2027.He informed that the census portal is available in 16 languages, including Hindi. All fellow citizens can perform self-enumeration through their mobile phones, enter accurate information, and become participants in laying a strong foundation for the future of the country. <nis:link nis:type=tag nis:id=census2027 nis:value=census2027 nis:enabled=true nis:link/>
Goa's Census 2027 Self-Enumeration will be held from 16 November - 30 November 2026.
South Goa Begins Census 2027 Population Enumeration Training. <nis:link nis:type=tag nis:id=census2027 nis:value=census2027 nis:enabled=true nis:link/>
A two-day training programme at District level was conducted on 24–25 September 2026 for Census Clerks and Technical Assistants in preparation for Phase-II (Population Enumeration) of Census 2027. The programme focused on strengthening the participants’ understanding of their roles, responsibilities, field-level procedures, and operational requirements, use of digital tools and applications, technical protocols, and adherence to prescribed guidelines. <nis:link nis:type=tag nis:id=census2027 nis:value=census2027 nis:enabled=true nis:link/>
The two-day training programme for Charge Officer's and Additional Charge Census Officer's, held from 22–23 September 2026 for Phase-II (Population Enumeration) of Census 2027, concluded today successfully. The programme featured informative sessions and meaningful interactions, strengthening preparedness for the upcoming Census. By the end of the session Officer's were encouraged to extend their full support and cooperation for the successful implementation of Phase-II. <nis:link nis:type=tag nis:id=census2027 nis:value=census2027 nis:enabled=true nis:link/>
The 2 Days training programme for Charge officer's and Additional Charge Census Officer's for the Phase-II (Population Enumeration) of Census 2027 commenced today at Goa. DCO Goa led the inaugural session with an overview of Phase-II, highlighting the roles, responsibilities of Charge officers and relevant legal provisions. The training programme will cover all operational procedures to be followed during phase-2 of Census 2027. <nis:link nis:type=tag nis:id=census2027 nis:value=census2027 nis:enabled=true nis:link/>
The Principal Census Officers’ Conference for Phase-II (Population Enumeration) of Census 2027 was successfully held on 21 September 2026, under the chairpersonship of Smt. Cheshta Yadav, IAS, Director of Census Operations, Goa, and organised by the State Nodal Department, Directorate of Planning, Statistics and Evaluation (DPSE), Goa. The conference was attended by all Collectors/Principal Census Officers and District Census Officers. The Director of Census Operations, Goa, provided an overview of Phase-II, highlighting their roles, responsibilities and relevant legal provisions, followed by a detailed presentation by Smt. Sweta Nandwana, Deputy Director, covering the 40 questions, digital tools, training and operational procedures/requirements. The conference concluded with a vote of thanks by the Director, DPSE, Goa. The 2nd State Level Census Coordination Committee (SLCCC) Meeting was held on 10.09.2026 under the chairmanship of Dr. V. Candavelou, Chief Secretary, Goa, to review the preparedness for Phase-II (Population Enumeration) of Census 2027. Smt. Cheshta Yadav, Director of Census Operations, Goa, presented and discussed the agenda points. The Chief Secretary emphasized the importance of Census 2027 and directed all Secretaries, Collectors and Directors of various Depts. to extend their full cooperation for its successful conduct. <nis:link nis:type=tag nis:id=census2027 nis:value=census2027 nis:enabled=true nis:link/>
On the Occasion of World Environment Day 2026 plantation drive for planting 125 saplings were successfully caried out under the guidance of Ms. Cheshta Yadav, IAS, Director, DCO Goa at DCO Office premise and various other institutes namely Goa University, Goa Science Centre, Government Schools and Corporation Parks with active participation of all Officers/Officials of DCO Goa.

Ms. Cheshta Yadav, Director, DCO Goa alongwith Mrs. Sweta Nandwana, Deputy Director of DCO Goa conducted inspection at Corgao Village to review the PE pre-test field operation and to assess the functionality of digital tools like mobile app. They interacted with the Supervisors, enumerators and even with the households to know accuracy of data and the difficulties that is being faced in conducting pre-test survey and to collect the feedback for improvisation in functionality of app.

Field visit conducted by Collector (North Goa) & Principal Census Officer, Shri Ankit Yadav, IAS, across various areas of Tiswadi (Rural) charge along with Deputy Director (Census), Charge Officer, Additional Charge Officer and Census staff. The department of Sociology and Economic organized a session on Demographic profile of India. The resource person was Shri Maruti Sulabhavi- Statistical Investigator, Directorate of Census Operations Goa on 22/07/2026. Altogether 108 students benefitted from the informative lecture which gave a glimpse of the Indian population and policy decisions. The students were also inspired to take up compititive examinations so that youth of Goa can play a major role in Nation Building.
