Brief Description

The scheme aims to provide financial incentives to meritorious girl students belonging to minority communities based on their performance in the High School Examination or its equivalent (Munshi/Maulvi) and Intermediate Examination or its equivalent (Alim).

Eligibility Criteria

1. The applicant must belong to a minority community in Uttarakhand. 2. The applicant must be a girl student. 3. The girl student must have secured 60% or more marks as an institutional candidate in the High School Examination of the Uttarakhand Secondary Education Board / Madrasa Board or its equivalent (Munshi/Maulvi), or in the Intermediate Examination or its equivalent (Alim). 4. The applicant’s mother/father/guardian should belong to the Below Poverty Line (BPL) category, or their annual family income from all sources should not exceed: - ₹81,000 in rural areas - ₹1,03,000 in urban areas 5. The girl student must be unmarried. 6. The age of the girl student should not be more than 20 years. 7. A maximum of two daughters from the same family can avail of this benefit.

Application Process

- The advertisement for filling up application forms is published by the District Minority Welfare Officer or the District Social Welfare Officer, generally by 31st July every year. At present, applications are invited offline. The application form can be obtained from the departmental office or downloaded from the official website <nis:link nis:type=webUrl nis:id=slugId nis:text="https://minoritywelfare.uk.gov.in" nis:value=https://minoritywelfare.uk.gov.in/provider/state-government/ nis:enabled=true/> - After obtaining the form, applicants are required to attach the necessary documents, which include a self-declaration certificate of belonging to a minority community, an income certificate, a permanent residence certificate, an affidavit declaring unmarried status and confirming that only two daughters of the family have received or will receive the benefit, details of an Aadhaar-linked or seeded bank account, a copy of the Aadhaar card, and a mobile number. - The completed form along with these documents must be submitted at the development block office or the district office. From there, the development block office forwards the applications to the district level, where a committee reviews them and recommends eligible cases to the Directorate. The Directorate then consolidates the proposals and sends them to the Government. - Once the budget is sanctioned, funds are allocated to the districts as per the approved demand, and the sanctioned amount is transferred directly from the district to the beneficiary’s bank account. - The benefit is available only in the same year in which the High School, Intermediate, or equivalent examination is passed, and it is mandatory to apply within that year. Selection of beneficiaries is made on the basis of budget availability.
