Brief Description

BBSA is a umbrella scheme under the SSEPD Department, Government of Odisha. The aim of the scheme is to promote inclusivity and empowerment among marginalized communities, particularly focusing on those with disabilities and other forms of social disadvantage.

1. The applicants must be bona fide resident of Odisha. 1. A Person with Disability (PWD) irrespective of age and category of disability may avail all or any of services as envisaged provided he/she has not availed the same previously. <br>

1. The registration of the candidates will be done as per the categories of the disabilities, such as, visually impaired, speech/hearing impaired, orthopedically handicapped, leprosy cured persons, mentally retarded and mentally ill, CP, Autism and Multiple Disabilities etc. 1. The registered beneficiary will move with prescribed application to the Assessment/ Distribution Counters for evaluation of disabilities and requirement of aids/appliances and other services by medical/ rehabilitation professionals. 1. If the Application is found to be suitable for certification (i.e. with 40% or above disabilities), it will be referred to photo counter, Medical Counter, ID card/Pass Book Counter successively. 1. In case of the registered PwD having prior valid disability certificate, they need not be moved to Medical Examination counter. But their cases may be evaluated for requirement of aids/appliance & other services, if any, in the Assessment Counter.

Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016 received the assent of the President of India on 27th December 2016 repealing the PwD Act, 1995.
